Our Mission

Bridging the Gap Between Waste and Agriculture

Founded in 2021, Scratop operates at the intersection of climate tech and agriculture. We’ve built a structured system for bio-waste recovery — collecting what would otherwise pollute the environment and converting it into premium organic biofertilizer that serves Nigeria’s 75% smallholder farming workforce.

Waste-to-Value

We recover bio-waste from households, markets, and farms — transforming environmental pollutants into nutrient-rich agricultural inputs.

Sustainable Agriculture

Our biofertilizers help farmers transition from chemical-intensive practices to regenerative, organic farming that restores soil health.

Climate Impact

Every tonne of waste recovered reduces landfill pollution, methane emissions, and environmental degradation — tracked and measured.

Food Safety

By replacing synthetic chemicals with organic alternatives, we help produce safer, healthier crops for Nigerian communities.

Meet the Founder

Ruth Ede

Founder & CEO

Ruth Ede is a green agriculturist, climate advocate, and social entrepreneur who founded Scratop Nigeria Limited in 2021. Born into a food-producing household in Ohaji, Imo State, her journey into sustainable agriculture was forged through personal adversity — after her family's home and business were demolished, they turned to farming, where she witnessed firsthand how chemical-intensive practices destroy soil health and trap smallholder farmers in cycles of poverty.

Today, Ruth leads Scratop's mission to bridge the gap between waste generation and sustainable agricultural production, serving the 75% of Nigeria's farming workforce who are smallholder farmers. Her work spans biowaste recovery, organic fertilizer production, climate education, and youth empowerment.
